Initial concept of the Kalmar pilot project

The Kalmar pilot develops strategies for demolition mapping and material storage to better match supply and demand for reused building materials.

The pilot projects have been selected to represent three key phases of the reuse process: locating, storing, and distributing materials and components for reuse. The pilot project developed by the Municipality of Kalmar in collaboration with GodaHus aims to establish a strategy for demolition mapping, create a business model for material storage, and foster dialogue with suppliers.

Insights gathered during the first year of the Future Baltic Bauhaus project revealed a strong demand for the concepts presented in the pilot initiatives. There is a significant need to better match supply and demand in the second-hand market for building materials.
