15:00–15:10 - Introduction FutureBalticBauhaus EU Interreg South Baltic Project

An overview of the project's vision for a circular and low-carbon construction sector in the South Baltic region, rooted in regional identity and cross-border collaboration. Steen Schønemann, project leader of FutureBalticBauhaus, outlines the project's goals, partner network, and strategic framework.

15:10–15:30 - Input: Re_sourcing Architecture – Aesthetics, Affordability and Inclusion

Speaker: Prof. Martin Wollensak
An impulse lecture exploring how reused materials shape new architectural aesthetics while supporting affordability, accessibility, and sustainable design.

15:30–16:00 - Best Practice: Pilots from Holbæk and Kalmar Municipalities

Concrete examples demonstrating how circular practices can be successfully implemented in municipal contexts.

About the festival

The Festival of the New European Bauhaus takes place in Brussels from 9–13 June 2026. It invites participants to imagine and build a beautiful, sustainable and inclusive future, celebrating the power of democratic engagement in shaping more inclusive and sustainable communities.

The festival consists of three strands:

  • Fair – Showcase Your Project brings together innovators, thinkers and game-changers to present beautiful, sustainable & inclusive projects, products and ideas. It offers five days of networking with potential partners and collaborators.
  • Fest – Celebrate Art & Culture is open to artists, collectives and cultural organisations, featuring music, theatre, dance, performance, art exhibitions and more — a space to present creative visions to a vibrant audience.
  • Satellite Events can be organised anywhere — in Brussels, across Europe, or worldwide — and promote beautiful, sustainable & inclusive projects, helping organisers gain international visibility.
