Children and staff have moved into the new Svinninge Children’s Hub, featuring modern facilities and reused building materials. The project combines improved indoor conditions with circular construction.

Monday: Dining area connected to the new industrial kitchen

Children and staff have now moved into the kindergarten in Svinninge – “Svinninge Childen´s hub”. Since Monday, the new surroundings have been met with big smiles.

“The old building we moved from had reached the end of its life. I had to wear thermal underwear just to sit in my office – I no longer have to think about that,” says the pedagogical leader.

Svinninge Børneunivers includes shared creative rooms, activity rooms, and a large dining area connected to a new industrial kitchen.

The façade of Svinninge Childen´s hub is built with reused bricks from a former building in Holbæk. The playground, which will be inaugurated in the spring, is being constructed using timber from the same building.

The next step is the careful demolition of the old kindergarten building, with a view to reusing building materials for a new kindergarten in Tølløse - another part of the municipality.
