The most sustainable building material is one that already exists.
As part of the New European Bauhaus Festival 2026, we hosted an online event bringing together participants from the building sector to discuss circular design and reuse.
After inputs on design aesthetics and pilots from our research project, the workshop opened up a rich exchange on the challenges of implementing circular processes in practice, what's already possible and how design aesthetics change when working with reused components.
The discussions and insights gathered will continue to inform our research going forward. A big thank you to all who participated!
