In January 2026, the application for budget funding for the establishment of the depot will be submitted for political decision. The current plan is for the operations to commence in September 2026.
Core of the Kalmar Pilot
The marketplace and depot constitute a core component of this pilot project within Future Baltic Bauhaus (FBB). They will be developed and operated by the project team in Kalmar, in close collaboration with both private-sector and municipal stakeholders.
Study visits inform the business plan
In developing the business plan and operational budget, experiences gained from study visits conducted within the framework of FBB have been highly valuable. Visits and interviews at four established reuse warehouses in southern Sweden have provided important insights into practical organisation, logistics, staffing, and financial models—knowledge that is now being integrated into the pilot study.
